first_imgTweetPinShare0 Shares PIRAEUS – Olympiacos scored an impressive 86-75 win over the visiting Turkish team Efes Anadolu March 26 in the European basketball tourney.Behind young Ioannis Papapetrou, the Reds stopped a losing skid and assured itself of a top three finish in its bracket and have a chance to get into the top two in Moscow next week against the tough CSKA.It was a tight game against the Turkish team with the score tied 35-35 at the half and Anadolu led 57-53 after three before Olympiacos came back big with 33 points in the final quarter.There were more than 7,000 fans on hand to watch an Olympiacos team depleted by the absence of both guards, sharpshooting Captain Vassilis Spanoulis, and Costas Sloukas, and also of Brent Petway. Still, the Reds shook off a two-game losing streak in the tourney with a barrage of three-point shots in the last period.Stratos Perperoglou, who left Greece to play for Anadolu, led all scorers with 23 while Olympiacos was led by Oscar Lafayette with 17.last_img
