Tweet this comment Cancel Submit Comment Subscribe to None Replies All new comments by Shane Farley, Newscow.net — A 17-year-old from Newkirk has died as a result of injuries sustained Tuesday afternoon in a crash on Geuda Springs Road in west Cowley County.Around 4:15 p.m., authorities responded to the report of a rollover accident in the 27000 block of Geuda Springs Road, which is formally known as First Road.Jordan L. Hobson was taken to the hospital following the accident and later in the evening investigators were informed he had died.Hobson was southbound on First Rd. in a 1998 Chevy Blazer when he lost control of the vehicle and left the road way. He went into the west ditch and the vehicle rolled repeatedly for about 200 feet before coming to a stop.It was not clear what caused Hobson to lose control of the SUV.Hobson was ejected from the vehicle.Hobson attended Oxford High School. Oxford Superintendent Mark Whitener said a student in the district had died but did not provide that student’s name:“I can confirm we lost a student,” Whitener said. “Our thoughts are with the students here and the family of that student.”A crisis team was at the school this morning to provide support for anyone needing it.Follow us on Twitter.last_img
