Australian judge named to UN war crimes tribunal for former Yugoslavia

Judge Kevin Horace Parker’s stint on the Tribunal will begin on 4 December, according to a spokesman for the Secretary-General.Judge Parker replaces another Australian, Judge David Anthony Hunt, and is scheduled to serve out the remainder of Judge Hunt’s term, which expires on 16 November 2005.Mr. Annan made the decision after consulting the Security Council and the General Assembly, the spokesman said.
